Northwestern Golf Product Photography

Project Overview

Northwestern Golf, an established name in the sport, was preparing for a brand relaunch and product reveal at the PGA Show in Florida. Willow Marketing brought Wood Mill in to capture professional product photography for nearly 100 items — everything from irons to bags — to be used on the website and marketing materials.

Scope of Work

  • Full Studio Product Photography

  • Lighting Setup & Consistency Control

  • File Delivery for Web + Marketing Use

  • 2-Day Turnaround for Tight Deadline

Design Approach

The focus was consistency, clarity, and clean lighting. Using the photography studio at Willow, I brought in my own camera and lighting gear to capture:

  • 6 sets of clubs, including Drivers, 3 Woods, and Hybrids (multiple angles per club)

  • Irons, wedges, and putters

  • Golf bags and accessories

Every shot needed to match across the sets — down to angle, shadow, and reflection.

Challenges and Solutions

The Iron Number Dilemma:
One key challenge was making the numbers on irons visible without reflections washing them out. It required precise lighting — positioning softboxes just right so the numbers were legible but not blown out.

Consistency Across 100 Products:
To ensure identical framing and positioning, I clamped each club into a C-stand at the same angle and used a monitor to dial in alignment before each shot.

Highlights

  • Over 100 products photographed in 1 day
  • Editing collaboration with Willow’s designer
  • Client feedback: “These look professional! Much better than being shot on the iPhone.”
  • Delivered in time for PGA Show launch in Florida

Results And Reflections

The new Northwestern Golf product line launched cleanly and confidently with high-quality visuals front and center. The sharp, consistent photography helped elevate the brand’s reintroduction to the market — and proved that even under tight deadlines, quality doesn’t have to suffer.
